温家宝将访俄罗斯哈萨克斯坦 (China's Premier to Visit Russia, Kazakhstan)
中国外交部说，温家宝总理本月晚些时候将访问俄罗斯和哈萨克斯坦，就能源合作和其他问题进行会谈。外交部发言人秦刚星期二在北京对记者说，温家宝首先将于10月27号前往莫斯科，与俄罗斯总理普京会谈。

China's Foreign Ministry says Premier Wen Jiabao will visit Russia and Kazakhstan later this month for talks on energy cooperation and other issues. Spokesman Qin Gang told reporters in Beijing Tuesday that Mr. Wen will first travel to Moscow on October 27th for a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
He is then scheduled to travel to the Kazakh capital, Astana, for a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Hui said energy talks with Russia will include cooperation in the areas of oil, natural gas and nuclear power. He said the two sides will sign a series of important agreements, but did not provide specifics.

Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain today (Tuesday) are battling for votes in two states considered critical to winning the White House on November 4th. McCain, a Republican senator, campaigned in (the northeastern state of) Pennsylvania where the latest polls show Obama ahead by an average of 10 percentage points. The Arizona lawmaker today accused Obama of saying one thing and doing another to win support.
Obama, a Democratic senator, told supporters in (the southeastern state of) Florida today he is ready to tackle the country's economic crisis. The issue has helped Obama pull ahead of his rival in the polls. Obama is scheduled to take a break from the campaign trail later this week to visit his gravely ill grandmother in Hawaii.
The Illinois senator is canceling events Thursday and Friday to be with 85-year-old Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him.
